Of sunny days and HIV tests…
Monday, October 29th, 2007Greetings again from the streets of Addis, where sunshine reigns (no pun intended) each day, with no rain in sight until at least April. The coming onslaught of winter weather back home seems a far-away thing, when I am sitting here with the windows open and 75-85 degree temps greeting me each day….
We saw our last team of the year come and go this past week, a 12 person team from City Life Church in Boston. It was good to have them here, as they did clinics and business skills training for the beneficiaries. I was able to do a little bit of labwork, as well, which was a pleasant change…OH, and they were able to bring all of my lab equipment for this TB research project we will be doing…so that was a plus, as well.
Speaking of the TB project, we re-submitted our proposal for the study to the Ethics Committee, and are now awaiting a response….hopefully, finally, after 11 months of being here, we may finally have a study started! Right before I leave, yeah! In all seriousness, though, we should actually be able to get things started here soon…definitely something to pray about, please!
